25-YEARS AND STILL GOING STRONG.
Rj & Cae’s Home Baked Cakes is celebrating 25 years of home baking services; founded in 1993, the small business shares its acumen as to what it takes for a company to reach a silver anniversary.
Twenty-five years in business is a rare occurrence, but in an economy where companies merge, downsize or disappear altogether, Rj & Cae’s Home Baked Cakes has stood the test of time. What is the secret?
Owner and baker, Remedios “Remy” Acuram shares her insight: “Building loyalty and trust between a customer and a business is important. Take care of your customers, and they will take care of you.” Remy believes that this personalization of service is still a driving force in customer retention, today.
Many business elements have changed between 1993 and 2018. Consumer research has pointed clients in widely veering directions over the century. Rj & Cae’s Home Baked Cakes has had to adapt its product offering as well as the way it has brought products to market.
From using only the old-fashioned landline calls to receive orders, Remy learned to adapt to the new technology like social media to reach a wide array of customers.
To broaden her knowledge, she also participated in various business seminars provided by the government. Like the programs of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for MSME. She immersed herself in gathering the resources and guidance to grow her business.
“If you want to grow your business and achieve success, be sure you have the support and guidance you need. You are the captain of your ship, you can weather the storms of uncertainty and navigate your way through the ups and downs of business growth if you align your goals and actions with your values. Once you do, you’ll be on your way to lasting success.” added Remy.
